Yes it's Happy National Singapore. It's suppose to be that way. Some joke my friends and I share. Many of us planned a great long weekend. I planned a slightly shorter, long weekend but it failed and is failing. I also didn't manage to attend Joanne's birthday with the iHeartChina kids. The other plan was to have a beach day with Syarah but that backfired too. I didn't manage to collect my iMac from Nina's too as I didn't want to get stuck in the silly crowd already in town, all hyped up for Happy National Singapore.

I'm also beginning to feel like stool(replacing shit/crap in my vocab with this word).

Let's see how tomorrow will be. Probably another dead day.

First Night

It's 8:30pm. Almost 1 day without Syarah. Got myself new cotton pillows the day before but didn't manage to try it yet. Tonight will be the night I get to rest on Real Cotton Pillows after decades on foam pillows.

The pillows will not be of any help. I miss her so much. Even a short "hello, good night" every night makes me feel complete. But I am not gonna get that tonight. 2 more weeks to go. I miss you.

Now it's 10:45pm. I can't really sleep. the weather is humid. The night air is still. I missed out the "Really Really Free Market" today. I missed out Club 21 Bazaar this weekend. I missed out the meeting with Dawg and the pack. I miss you, Syarah.

Rebirth or Dying

I've been on hiatus for awhile. A lot of things happened. Syarah and I, adopted a bagel... a cat. His name is Bagel. His name was Blackblack but we changed it to Bagel. Initially he looked real weird when we first got him but somehow I think he is happier now and looks alive. He's very active and very heavy.

Syarah and I intend to adopt another cat.

I've also tendered my resignation from Scrawl Studios on the 14th of May 2009. It has been an experience. On the first year they made avoidable mistakes, I stayed on as I know I can help solve their problems. On the 2nd year a little tension but I still carried on. Coming into the 3rd year, I realised they won't ever learn from their mistakes nor will they even listen to my opinions. So I resigned. Actually, I've realised that on my 2nd year with them. I will not work under incompetent, power hungry, inexperienced, Producers who are in fact production coordinators (yes, they are not even close to a production manager).

Bad time to resign? I dunno. I am now helping out for http://awan-awan.com as an editor. They are my friends and they have common sense.

Scrawl Studios Showreel

This is the 2nd time I had to cut a montage reel for Scrawl Studios in a short period of time. The first time I had less than an hour to choose clips, music, cut & deliver. Mind you at that time, we had not much clips to play with as most of the stuffs were still in production stage.

And it happened again this year with new updated clips.

Yes! I don't know why some people think "Oh showreel is easy... I can do it in half an hour~!"

Being young and over optimistic at times, I thought I could pull off a live gig shoot with one camera(Canon XL1s), no tripod & in an extremely intoxicated state... well those were the days.

When I looked through the tape 7 months later, I realised that I don't have much footage that's usable. So I chose one of the best tracks from the whole lot and salvage as much shots I can from other parts of the show to produce this.

Well... the guys were intoxicated too... but those were the days. You should check out their proper recordings.
